■ OUR PROCESS
At Vindana Wines, we believe our role as winemakers is to be stewards of the land, guiding the fruit through its natural journey with minimal intervention.
Our approach is rooted in respect for the vineyard, allowing each micro-climate to express its unique character in every bottle.
-
The Barossa Valley is one of the world’s most unique wine regions, with soils millions of years older than many iconic wine-growing areas. From the alluvial plains of the valley floor to the rocky outcrops of the Eden Valley high country, our vineyards thrive in diverse conditions.
This region is home to the oldest continuously surviving Shiraz and Grenache vines in the world, spared from phylloxera due to its remoteness. The interplay between the warm Barossa Valley and the cooler Eden Valley creates wines of remarkable complexity and character.
-
As custodians of the land, we are committed to sustainable practices that honor the environment and preserve our heritage for future generations. We source fruit from growers who prioritise organic and biodynamic principles, though we remain focused on quality over certification, embracing technology when it enhances the integrity of our wines.
-
Our winemaking process is a blend of tradition and innovation. We use gravity-fed transfers and basket pressing to gently extract color and tannins, ensuring the fruit’s purity and balance shine through. Extended maturation in French and American oak barrels adds subtle complexity, while minimal fining and filtering preserve the wine’s natural character.
-
We strive for wines that reflect the vineyard’s essence—vibrant, structured, and alive with flavor. Whether crafting bold, concentrated wines or elegant, balanced expressions, our goal is to showcase the Barossa Valley’s unique terroir in every sip.
